This year, animal print has been a HOT trend.. and honestly something I’ve never thought I could pull off. When I started seeing animal print everywhere I didn’t even try it on. I glanced, thought to myself “in your dreams” and grabbed my usual basics. Plaids and florals have been new to my wardrobe the last couple years... and those were a big step out of my comfort zone.
Recently though... I’ve need to push myself out of my comfort zone and every time I have.. I’ve looked back without regret. So, when I did a styling session with Purpose Boutique and they pulled an animal print I thought why the heck not! Stop dreaming and start living! I loved the look so much I bought the sweater and I wear it ALL. THE. TIME.
Months later, Purpose Boutique caught my eye again and this time with a $32 Leopard print midi skirt. I saw it on Instagram and immediately thought to myself “girl, get that skirt NOW”. Luckily, they had ONE LEFT in a medium (perfect for my growing baby bump) and it fit like a glove. You guys, this skirt is so fun, so comfortable.. and so versatile! I never would have thought something so flashy could be worn so many ways. But.. it can and here are my top three looks featuring this awesome skirt!
First, the more casual “momiform”
I paired the skirt with a Mama Bear tee (also from purpose), a wide brimmed hat, my favorite diaper bag backpack from Freshly Picked and some studded miles which could easily be swapped out for some sneakers.
Look number two, the wear anywhere look
This skirt works so well with a slightly cropped sweater. I chose a basic white knit but this could easily be worn with another neutral like black or even a fun burgundy! I wore the same mules with this outfit but you could also totally wear pumps for a more classic feminine look!
Finally.. look number three, the sexy mama
Okay so this is my favorite and I may be biased because I paired the skirt with my all time favorite leather jacket. This jacket from Blank NYC felt so chic with the skirt and a simple black silky tank tucked in! Perfect for a date night or a girls night out. Again, I wore the studded mules but you could really dress this up with heels or down with sneakers. They both work!
My favorite thing about this skirt is that it is regular sizing but totally bump friendly with the elastic waistband worn over above bump. I’m 5’2” so being petite helped maintain a midi length but even pulled up above the bump it was longer than it needed to be.
